Lost nordic voices

Lost Nordic Voices is a music project dedicated to bringing forgotten lives back into the light.

For many years I have researched my family history and discovered countless stories of ordinary people whose lives were filled with love, loss, sacrifice, and hope. Most of them are remembered today only as names and dates in old records. Through music, I want to give them a voice again.

Every song is inspired by a real person or a true event from Scandinavian history or genealogy, each song is a tribute to lives that helped shape the world we know today.

The musical style is never fixed. Each story finds its own voice, whether that means a quiet folk ballad, a cinematic soundtrack, a powerful rock anthem, or something in between. The music is shaped by the emotions and the lives behind each story—not as history lessons, but as human stories that can still move us today.

Because every forgotten name once belonged to someone who lived, loved, and was remembered.

My music

He rides on

This song is a tribute to my father-in-law, who passed away far too soon. He absolutely loved his motorcycle, and he was always full of joy, laughter, and jokes. He rides on in our hearts forever.

Keeper of the field

A promise kept in secret. This track tells the story of a person I swore the world would know about after they were gone, but whose true name I will always keep to myself.

When spring returned

Tells the true story of a timberman who lost his life on the river he worked every day. Swept away by the current, he remained missing  until spring finally returned him to those who had never stopped searching.

Come home little one

More than a century ago, a young child disappeared into the forest and was never seen again. Told from the father's perspective, the song is a heartfelt plea that never received an answer—a tribute to love, loss, and the hope that never truly fades.

The last noble

Inspired by the life of Hans Walkendorff, a Danish nobleman who lost everything. Once a man of wealth, honor, and influence, his life took a dramatic turn, leaving him stripped of both fortune and status. The song tells the story of the rise and fall of the last nobleman of his family line.

Nineteen winter smoke

Inspired by the true story of my 19-year-old ancestor who left Sweden in search of a new life in America. Full of hope, he disappeared without a trace, leaving his family to wonder what became of him. The song is a tribute to all those whose journeys ended in silence, far from home.

Daughter of silence

This song tells the heartbreaking story of a woman forced to keep the father of her illegitimate child a secret. Compelled by the harsh judgment of society for being unmarried and her youth, she gave her son away, leaving him to grow up in a loveless home. The father remains unknown until today.

The miner's road

This song tells the story of a miner in 1650s northern Sweden who endures the brutal, perilous life of the early mines. Through relentless hard labor, he conquers the harsh conditions to fulfill his ultimate dream: buying his own piece of land.

North bound heart

This song follows a deeply family-oriented and strong-willed woman during World War II who meets a soldier in northern Sweden. Though heartbroken by the painful longing for the family she leaves behind, her strength carries her over 1,000 kilometers by train to build a new future with him.

Hands that could not see

This song is inspired by a true story uncovered through genealogy. It tells of a blind basket and brush maker who, after a life of hardship, took his own life. His daughter carried on his craft, preserving both his work and his memory.
